In the last two years, the CCCC Linux Desktop SIG has devised a six month schedule of workshops. Every year, the easiest to use distribution will be chosen to teach the workshops and the cycle will be repeated twice. All of the workshops are hands on, presented in the computer lab so the participants can follow along. Advanced topics will be offered to participants that finish the first classes.
There are three sections of the cycle, install, comfort, and proficiency. The cycle starts with an install fest and survival workshop. Comfort workshops aim to teach the user how to make their computer act the way they want it to. Proficiency workshops are designed to teach more specific tricks. After proficiency is gained, users are encouraged to learn specifics that interest them and instruct their peers. Listed out the workshops are:
